Our client, a national manufacturer is looking for a qualified and experienced individual to join their Design team!

Requirements:

• Matric
• Mechanical Engineering Diploma or Degree is required
• Min 1-2yrs experience in a similar role is essential
• Proven experience using CAD software and Autodesk Inventor
• Automotive Manufacturing/Manufacturing industry experience would be advantageous

Responsibilities:

• To support the design process under the guidance of the Design team
• Concept Designs - Creating new and innovative concept designs with sketches, calculations, drawings and product specifications as well as conducting basic Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and interpreting results
• Final Designs
• Design Evaluation - Actively contributes to creation and maintenance of FMEA reviews
• Costing info/BOM - Generating of costing spreadsheets and BOM
• Product assembly - Assembly of development products
• Product fitments - Fitment of development product
• Product testing - Compiling of test parameters, conducting trials, the generation and interpretation of results
• Sales orders - Accurate and thorough vehicle measurements transferred into CAD for the design and approval model/drawings submitted to the customer
• Machining - Generating of new CNC machining programs, review and optimization of existing CNC machining programs as well as tooling/jig design and co-ordination of tooling manufacture
• Production handover
• Production trials - Conduct production trials for the new and revised product manufacture and assembly
• Production support - Handle production queries relating to product design and quality
• Conduct product training, product fitments, repairs, and servicing through technical support
• Raising, investigation and concluding NCR's/BD through root cause analysis
• Ensure full compliance to ISO standards
• Actively contribute to Continuous Improvement Project team
