Work hours - 08H00 - 17H00 5 days a week.

We are looking for an engineer who wants to work in a high-tech manufacture engineering environment. Who enjoys optimisation and ensures efficient ways of producing output. An innovative Electronic/Electrical Engineer who can figure out solutions to technical challenges and ensure our production processes are optimised in such a way that it supports our state-of-the-art electronic and electromagnetic solutions are of a world-class quality and standard.

Must have

  • Eng. (Electrical and Electronic Engineering) - including
  • calculus,
  • electronic design,
  • technical communication and
  • technical drawings/graphic communication, as subjects.
  • 2 years' experience in an electronic engineering environment with particular focus on fault finding and repair of RF electronic circuits would be advantageous.
  • Specific experience that supports the effective execution of this role:
  • Experience working in an environment where high-value/low-volume items are manufactured (Desirable)
  • Experience working within an MRP/ERP environment (Desirable)
  • 2 years proven experience with RF circuit fault finding (Desirable)
  • Experience working within an ISO 9001 certified production facility (Desirable)

Key tasks

  • Responsible for driving all technical aspects of the in-range production environment, including taking responsibility for the fault finding and repair of all in-range hardware, developing and maintaining test hardware, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Focus around efficiently resolving challenging technical problems and failures in the in-range production environment.
  • Identify opportunities for production optimisation and design and implement creative engineering solutions to capitalise on these opportunities.

Key Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Duties

Our engineering team is on a mission to create and innovate state-of-the-art radio frequency products and solutions to support our client's complex challenges.

As Electronic Engineer your responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluating and continuously improving the manufacturing processes including those used by subcontractors (i.e. PCB assembly).
  • Determining requirements and best practices for tooling and equipment, including requirements for test hardware and software, and the ongoing maintenance thereof.
  • Developing effective automated and non-automated systems.
  • Resolving issues and delays in production and providing inputs to product development, finding ways to reduce costs and maximise quality, improve producibility and increase product reliability.
  • Training staff in new and existing processes, collaborating with other engineers, contractors and suppliers.
  • Preserving our reputation by ensuring the quality of our products and services.
  • Yield monitoring and improving sensor and sensor sub-assemblies.
  • Reworking and repairing of all in-range hardware including, fault-finding, testing and rework (THT & SMD) for both production and delivered hardware, as well as failure analysis and reporting.
  • Continuously collaborating with all stakeholders, including management, finance, admin and technical staff, to analyse and improve the overall customer service.

Knowledge and Skills Required

Proven knowledge of the following would be advantageous:

  • Detailed knowledge and in-depth understanding of active RF circuits (Desirable)
  • Programming and test automation experience would be an advantage (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of and experience working with Radio Frequency test equipment such as network and spectrum analysers, Vector Network Analyser, power meters, etc. (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of and experience working with Enterprise/Materials Resource Planning (Desirable)

The key skills required to be proficient in this role are as follows

  • Performing PCBA rework (THL & Surface Mount Devices) (Important)
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel) (Critical)
  • Professional communication skills (Critical)
