A national private tertiary institution is looking for a qualified and experienced individual to join their team and assist the Facilities Co-ordinator with the overall maintenance/repairs and general upkeep of the campus.

Requirements:

  • Matric
  • Min 2yrs experience as a handyman/maintenance assistant is required
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Basic Electrical and Plumbing certification would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of OHS
  • MS Office literate

Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance and general repairs i.e. lighting/electrical etc. on the campus
  • Set up venues as per instruction from Facilities Co-ordinator when required
  • Paint and general repair work
  • Responsible for light installations and carpeting
  • Repair equipment and appliances where applicable
  • Responsible for minor plumbing and electrical work
  • Assist and manage Contractors that come onto the campus
  • Perform regular inspections on the campus to identify item and areas requiring attention
  • Responsible for sourcing quotes for maintenance and repairs
  • Ad hoc handyman duties as and when required
